Hyderabad: To empower families affected by autism and developmental disabilities, Nayi Disha, a non-profit organisation, will hold its annual flagship event in Hyderabad on February 3. It will be organised at the World One School in Kondapur, Hyderabad, starting from 5 pm.

The event aims to foster creative expression and promote the inclusion of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their neurotypical peers. In the past eight years, Nayi Disha has built a robust platform with a strong network of over 50,000 families and 5,500 professionals.

The organisation aims to provide information and link families with professionals and services, including a nationwide database of vetted doctors, educators, therapists, schools, and other resources to help families.

They also offer important information on various ailments, therapies, and government legislation, as well as workshops and support groups. Nayi Disha strives to be a lifelong partner for families dealing with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Nayi Disha emphasises that children with disabilities possess unique abilities, and early intervention programs, family support, acceptance, and inclusion can help them reach their full potential. Abhivyakti, currently in its fourth edition, celebrates children’s uniqueness via art, music, dance, paintings, and sculptures.

The event promises an evening of inspiration and inclusivity. Nayi Disha advocates for inclusion in children with developmental disabilities, highlighting their shared similarities and the importance of early intervention programs, family support, and societal acceptance. Prachi Deo, the founder of Nayi Disha, was recognised as an Inspiring Women Entrepreneur for Social Impact in 2018. The organisation has also received the DSFI Excellence Award, the India Inclusion Fellowship, Zero Project, the eNGO Challenge Award 2019, and the Women Lift Health Fellow 2023.
