Nip in the air: Hyderabad shivers at 12.4 deg C; Tallapally records lowest of 9 deg C

Hyderabad: Minimum temperature in Telangana has been dropping drastically in the last few days.

The drop has been so severe that in some districts, minimum temperatures have already fallen to a single digit.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), in the last 24 hours, the state's lowest minimum temperature of 9 degree Celsius was recorded in Tallapally in Rangareddy district, followed by 9.1 degree Celsius in Satwar in Zaheerabad.

In Hyderabad, the lowest minimum temperature of 12.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Marredpally. On Wednesday, almost all the districts of Telangana recorded minimum temperatures below 20 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, day temperatures continue to hover between 30-35 degree Celsius in most of the districts. In the last 24 hours, Kanaipally in Wanaparthy recorded the state's highest maximum temperature of 35.6 degree Celsius. In Hyderabad, the highest maximum temperature of 32.7 degree Celsius was recorded in Ganaanka Bhavan in Khairatabad.

What to look for?

MD Hyderabad forecasted that the minimum temperatures are likely to be below 2-4 degree Celsius at isolated pockets over Telangana on 17 November.

According to the TSDPS weather forecast, the minimum temperatures are expected to be between 10 to 16 degree Celsius in most of the districts in the state on 17 November. A slight increase in the minimum temperature is expected in some of the districts on 18 November.

T Balaji popular as Telangana Weatherman tweeted on Thursday, "What a drop in temperature in and around Hyderabad city. Raejndranagar recorded 10.5 degree Celsius. Ibrahimpatnam recorded 9.1 degree Celsius. City is under a strong cold wave. Some parts of the city recorded around 12-14 degree Celsius."

"Districts like Sangareddy, Rangareddy, Medchal, Kamareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Vikarabad, Adilabad, KB Asifabad too under strong COLDWAVE. The next three days will follow a similar trend."
