Not only new buildings, nation building too needs to be developed: TS Guv to KCR govt
She said that the government ignored the Centre’s guidelines and disrespected the constitution.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 27 Jan 2023 3:51 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan accused the KCR government of not organizing Republic Day celebration on a large scale despite a High Court order.
Speaking to the media in Puducherry, the Governor said that she had written to the state government two months ago to celebrate Republic Day in a grand manner. She said two days back the state government responded and advised her to celebrate Republic Day at Raj Bhavan. She said that the government ignored the Centre’s guidelines and disrespected the constitution. She said KCR tried to prevent holding Republic Day celebrations in public. However, a well-wisher filed a petition in court.
Without naming farmhouses and a new secretariat, she said not only new buildings but nation-building too needs to be developed. "I didn't expect Telangana CM KCR to attend the program. Two months back, I wrote a letter saying that the program should be conducted grandly with public participation. But they didn't respond to that letter,” Tamilisai Soundararajan told ANI.
Telangana undermined the Republic Day activity, they didn't have any public program. They wanted me to unfurl the flag at Raj Bhawan itself. BRS leaders went hammer and tongs against the Governor for her remarks. "If having a Farm House is a crime, then why in 2019, Madam Governor purchased a Farm House in Mangadu Village survey No's 10/6, 4/3, 10/2, 10/3, 10/4...,” they tweeted.

The Governor paid tributes to the martyrs and unfurled the national flag at Raj Bhavan. She later took a special flight from Begumpet to Puducherry. After participating in the Republic Day celebrations in Puducherry in the capacity of Lieutenant Governor, she left for Hyderabad in the evening. Ministers and other high-ranking officials were invited to the At-Home program held at Raj Bhavan. But surprisingly, neither the CM nor his cabinet colleagues attended.
