Telangana High Court has quashed the CBI court order and discharged her IAS officer Yerra Srilakshmi from Obulapuram illegal mining case.
The Court was hearing a Criminal Revision Case filed by Yerra Srilakshmi, Special Chief Secretary, Andhra Pradesh.
She had prayed for setting aside the order of the Principal Special Judge for CBI Cases, Hyderabad.
Justice Chillakur Sumalatha passed the Advance Order stating that resultantly the Criminal Revision Case is allowed.
"There are no grounds for framing the charges against the petitioner Y. Srilakshmi for the offences punishable under Section 120-B r/w 409 IPC and Section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Therefore, the petitioner Y Srilakshmi, IAS shall be discharged of the said offences," the Court said.
"In case charge(s) can be framed for any other offence(s), charge(s) to that effect may be framed and the trial proceedings may go on. Barring that, this order becomes final," the court added.
Justice Chillakur Sumalatha said as a sequel, miscellaneous applications, if any, pending, shall stand closed.
