Hyderabad: Telangana High Court on Monday directed the government to implement all the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) to curb Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state in view of the rising cases of Omicron in the state. The High Court has asked the state to issue the directions as per MOHFW guidelines within three days.
The court said that the state should impose the curbs like Delhi and Maharashtra where more than 50 cases are seen in each state even after these states restricted the movement of people. Court also advised govt to screen people coming in from other states at interstate borders of Maharashtra and Karnataka, just like how it is being done at the airport for international passengers from at-risk countries. The government has been asked to pass orders within three days.
On December 22, Telangana reported 14 new cases of Omicron, taking the tally to 38. Of the 14 new cases, 2 are from 'at-risk' countries and 12 are from non-risk nations.
