`Priests of temple of justice’: Telangana CJ Aparesh Kumar Singh hails advocates’ role in judicial system

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh on Friday described advocates as “priests of the temple of justice,” highlighting their indispensable role in the judicial system.

Interaction with the Advocates Association

Addressing members of the Telangana High Court Advocates Association at an interactive meet held at the Bar Association Hall, Chief Justice Singh emphasised that justice cannot be delivered without the assistance of advocates.

“Bar Association is the mother of the Bench. Without the cooperation and collaboration of members of the Bar, registry, and office staff, judges cannot dispose of cases effectively,” he stated.

Service to society and nation

The Chief Justice noted that the judiciary’s service strengthens society and the nation. “The State looks to the judicial institution with great faith and hope that justice will be delivered without fear or favour, and with the best of ability and knowledge,” he said.

Equal respect to all institutions

Reiterating the judiciary’s role as an organ of the State, Chief Justice Singh said, “Every institution of the State commands equal respect. I look forward to working with all of you to strengthen this institution further.”

Learning from mistakes

He added that making mistakes is human, but learning from them is crucial. “We have to make sincere efforts in whatever area or field we are performing or entrusted to perform. I assure you that I will discharge my responsibilities with full sincerity,” the Chief Justice concluded.

High Court judges, THCAA President A. Jagan, secretaries Vizarath Ali and Indrasena Reddy, along with senior and junior advocates, attended the meeting.
