Hyderabad: On Thursday, Telangana High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe refused to grant a lunch motion hearing, requested by advocate Ponnam Ashok Goud seeking a stay on the e-auction of the Budvel lands. The HMDA has scheduled the auction for Thursday, from 11 am to 6 pm in two sessions.
Counsel Ashok Goud informed the court that the BRS government has assured the High Court that it will allot 100 acres of land in Budvel for the construction of a new High Court. But now the government is going to auction the same lands.
The Chief Justice questioned Ashok Goud whether the advocate had spoken to his colleagues and the president of the Telangana Bar Association, before requesting a lunch motion, to which Ashok replied in negative. The PIL was filed by advocate Uma Shankar Nemmikanti.
On Wednesday, the Chief Justice said that the president of the Telangana Bar Association and executive members including the advocate general of Telangana met him and discussed the land auction issue. CJ Alok Aradhe said that if the petitioner wants the High Court to continue in this building, then he should seek an urgent hearing.
