Hyderabad: Telangana IAS Association on Sunday strongly condemned the disparaging remarks by former MLA Gone Prakash Rao against Adilabad collector Sikta Patnaik.

In an interview with TV channels, former APSTRTC chairman and MLA made derogatory and personnel comments against the Adilabad collector.

In a statement, the Association said that the former MLA's statement not only lowers the dignity of the institution of the collector but also denigrates the lady officer. The Association felt that such a statement by a political figure against a sincere officer working in a remote district will not only demoralize her but also all other officers working in the state, it said.

The association has requested the Director-General of Police Mahender Reddy to initiate necessary action under the law for these highly objectionable remarks against the lady officer.

The association further observed that such statements by a political leader against a sincere officer working in a remote district would not only demoralize the officer but also others working in the State.

Speaking to the media on Thursday morning, the former MLA made insulting remarks against Adilabad Collector Sikta Patnaik. Many have strongly objected to his behavior.
