Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has urged Union Road Transport and Highways minister Nitin Gadkari to upgrade 15 state highways in Telangana to national highways and enhance the allocation of funds from the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) to the state.
Revanth Reddy, accompanied by deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Roads and Buildings (R&B) minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, met Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Tuesday. During their visit, the chief minister and his Cabinet colleagues discussed various aspects including, the Centreās support for the development of national highways in Telangana and recognition of state highways as national highways with Nitin Gadkari.
Revanth Reddy also highlighted the need to develop a four-lane elevated corridor between Hyderabad and Srisailam, a four-lane road between Hyderabad and Kalwakurthy, a regional ring road (RRR) on the south side of Hyderabad and expansion of a six-lane road between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also appealed to Nitin Gadkari to establish a Transport Training Institute (TTI) and sanction a bypass for Nalgonda town.
