Hyderabad: State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Monday approved Rs. 500 crore for setting up a medical college and Super Specialty Hospital at Ramagundam.
The decision was taken in its 100th Annual General Body meeting held at Kothagudam. The decision is in tune with the promise made by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao,
Two years back, the Chief Minister had announced that a medical college will be constructed at Ramagundam. He said the public and workers will have access to super specialty medical services.
All the medical services available in cities like Hyderabad would be made available at the medical college and super-specialty hospital.
Singareni workers, retired workers, their families, and the public of Peddapalli, Mancherial, Bhupalapalli, Komaram Bheem Asifabad will have access to super specialty medical services.
SCCL chairman and managing director Sridhar thanked the Chief Minister for approving the medical college and super specialty hospital at Ramagundam.
He expressed happiness that Singareni is contributing to social causes.
