Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Friday refused to stay a CBI investigation and dismissed the two interim applications filed by Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy. The Kadapa MP had sought a stay in the CBI examination against him in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

The court directed the CBI not to take coercive steps until further notice. Further examination should be conducted in the presence of his advocate, it said. However, the court said that Avinash Reddy’s advocate could not be permitted to be in the room when the MP is being examined. But Avinash Reddy shall be examined within sight of his advocate.

The advocate cannot participate or interfere in the examination of Avinash Reddy, the court said.

The court directed the CBI to record the audio and video of the investigation, as requested by the petitioner.

A single Bench of Justice K. Lakshman pronounced the orders stating that the court was not inclined to stay the CBI investigation.
