Siddipet to get PM Award 2019 for 100% vaccination of children

Authorities and staff of the Siddipet administration have been successful in identifying children who may not be vaccinated for a variety of reasons and distributing the vaccine to all of them. Recognising this, the Central government has selected the district for the Prime Ministerā€™s Award 2019 in the Mission Indradhanush category.

Siddipet to get PM Award 2019 for 100% vaccination of children

Hyderabad: Siddipet district has been selected for the Prime Minister's Award in the 'Mission Indradhanush' category.

The Mission Indradhanush programme was launched as part of the goal of completing 100% vaccination for children. The mission aims to immunise all children against seven vaccine-preventable diseases ā€“ Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Childhood Tuberculosis, Polio, Hepatitis B, and Measles. Besides, vaccines for JE (Japanese Encephalitis) and Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type B) are also being provided in selected states.

Recognising this, the Central government has selected the district for the Prime Minister's Award 2019 in the Mission Indradhanush category.

As part of the award, the Central government will provide a trophy and a cash award of Rs. 10 lakh to Siddipet district at the "Civil Services Day" event to be held in Delhi on 20-21 April.

Finance and health minister Harish Rao will receive the award for Siddipet during the ceremony. The minister congratulated the officials and staff who worked hard for this achievement. "Under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR, the ministry of health is working to ensure that every child in the state is vaccinated," Mr. Rao added.
