Special Summary Revision begins in TS poll booths; 50K applications on Day 1

By Newsmeter Network Published on 27 Nov 2022 3:00 AM GMTHyderabad: The two-day campaign for Special Summary Revision (SSR) has begun in all polling stations throughout the state, Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj announced on Saturday. On day 1, up to 50,000 applications were received.
Several booth-level officers (BLO) are assisting with the requisite application forms at 34,891 polling sites.
The BLOs will be accessible at the appropriate polling booths beginning at 10 a.m. on both days, said Mr. Vikas Raj.
The second SSR campaign will take place on 3 and 4 December.
"There is a special emphasis on ensuring that all first-time voters, PWDs, and transgenders are enrolled as part of the campaign," the CEO said.
DEOs and EROs are closely monitoring the activities and enrollment in all districts.
In addition, to ensure that all activities run properly, the CEO visited a few polling sites in the GHMC area, and the joint CEO visited a few polling stations in the Mulugu and Bhupalpally districts.
The CEO said Election Literacy Clubs (ELC) have been founded in around 1,700 colleges, and campus ambassadors have been designated to assist in enrolling individuals who will turn 18 in 2023.
Furthermore, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has recruited e-roll observers in all districts to oversee the various operations of the ongoing SSR.
Mr. Vikas Raj has asked all eligible voters who have not yet enrolled to do so as part of the ongoing SSR by visiting www.nvsp.in or visiting their BLOs at their polling stations during the special campaign on 27 November and 3-4 December.
