Hyderabad: Telangana government has told the High Court that BJP state president Bandi Sanjay is not cooperating with the investigation into the SSC question paper leak case.

Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan on Monday adjudicated the Criminal Petition filed by. Bandi Sanjay seeking to quash the docket order passed by First Class Magistrate at Hanamkonda in which he was remanded to judicial custody.

When the case came up for hearing, Advocate General Banda Shivananda Prasad informed the Court that the petition has become infructuous as the petitioner has got bail from a lower court.

After hearing the contentions of the Advocate General, the Chief Justice said that nothing remains in this case.

Junior advocate on behalf of L Ravichander, senior counsel representing Bandi Sanjay, sought an adjournment on the ground that his senior will argue this case.

Advocate General informed the court that Bandi Sanjay is not cooperating with the investigating officer.

He said Bandi Sanjay is not handing over his mobile phone, which is a crucial aspect of the investigation. He said the delay in handing over the cell phone leads to the destruction of evidence, which may pave the way for the culprits to evade punishment.

After hearing the contentions of both parties, the Chief Justice directed the Advocate General to file an appropriate affidavit in the Court for passing orders.

Later, he adjourned the matter till April 21.
