Hyderabad: In a review meeting at the BRK Bhavan regarding the Omicron situation in the state, health minister Harish Rao explained the arrangements made by the government in view of a potential third wave.
He said that 21 lakh home isolation kits would be prepared, a special committee to analyze Coronavirus updates from around the world would be set up, and 545 metric tonnes of oxygen facility would be arranged. Oxygen supply to 27,996 beds and 25,826 beds has been completed and the remaining beds need to be provided with oxygen, he told the officials present. He also suggested maintaining drug stocks in central drug stores. He urged the people to wear masks and get two doses of vaccine.
During the meeting, the officials briefed the minister on the Coronavirus conditions in different countries and in the state, the spread of Omicron, and the third wave preparedness plan. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said, "We want to be ready in all possible ways to face the threat of a third wave in the form of the latest variant."
