IAS transfers in Telangana: Jayesh Ranjan is new chief of Metropolitan Area & Urban Development
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has transferred 20 senior IAS officers, with Jayesh Ranjan taking on a pivotal role in the urban development department.
The orders, issued late Thursday, come at a crucial time as the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) expands its jurisdiction and finalizes its ward delimitation.
Jayesh Ranjan to Lead Metropolitan Development
The most significant move in this reshuffle is the appointment of Jayesh Ranjan, IAS (1992), as the Special Chief Secretary to the Government, Metropolitan Area & Urban Development (HMDA Limits).
New Responsibility: He takes over the role from Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, who was holding it as a Full Additional Charge (FAC).
Retained Portfolios: Ranjan will continue to serve as the Special Chief Secretary for Youth Advancement, Tourism, and Culture (YAT&C), Sports, and as the Director of Archaeology.
Strategic Shift: In return, Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao will now hold the Full Additional Charge of the Industry & Investment Cell in the CMO and the SPEED (Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery) initiative.
New Zonal Commissioners for GHMC
Following the expansion of GHMC to 300 wards and 12 zones, the government has notified new Zonal Commissioners to streamline urban administration:

The reshuffle also impacted district leadership and key state commissions:
TGPSC change: M. Haritha, IAS (2013), previously the Collector of Rajanna Sircilla, is the new Secretary of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC).
Musi River Project: E.V. Narsimha Reddy, IAS (2017), has been posted as the Managing Director of the Musi River Development Corporation Ltd (MRDCL).
Rajanna Sircilla: Garima Agrawal, IAS (2019), will hold the Full Additional Charge as the Collector & District Magistrate of Rajanna Sircilla.
State Election Commission: G Lingya Naik has been appointed as the Secretary, State Election Commission.
