Telangana collectors told to focus on Indiramma Houses, quality meals and infra in govt schools
A review held covered topics such as the construction of Indiramma houses, Bhoobharathi, provision of meals and infrastructure in residential schools

Hyderabad: Telangana State ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Konda Surekha and Adluri Laxman Kumar directed district collectors to play a crucial role in implementing various development and welfare schemes undertaken by the State government, ensuring that the benefits reach the poor.
On Tuesday morning, from the Dr BR Ambedkar State Secretariat, the ministers, along with State chief secretary Ramakrishna Rao, chief secretaries of various departments, secretaries and heads of departments, reviewed schemes via video conference with all district collectors.
The review covered topics such as the construction of Indiramma houses, Bhoobharathi, provision of meals and infrastructure in various residential schools, tree plantation under Vanamahotsavam and the Mahalaxmi scheme.
Action plan to ensure benefits reach the poor
Ministers emphasised that collectors must take appropriate measures to ensure that the benefits of the governmentās many welfare schemes reach the poor and that an action plan should be formulated accordingly.
Quality food supply in welfare hostels
Ministers instructed collectors to ensure quality food is provided to students in Social, BC and Minority welfare hostels.
They also ordered regular inspections of hostels and mandated that all officials stay overnight in these hostels once a week. Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao provided several instructions to district collectors regarding their management.
He directed them to provide quality food facilities in line with the increased diet charges.
Officials were also advised to ensure basic amenities in hostels to prevent any complaints from students. Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman Kumar offered further suggestions, including undertaking sanitation drives for greenery and cleanliness in hostel premises and expeditiously completing the egg tender process in all districts. They also suggested organising monthly parentsā committee meetings.
200 crore women used free bus travel
Regarding the Mahalaxmi scheme, ministers noted that 200 crore women have availed free bus travel by tomorrow. They instructed that celebrations be held at 97 bus depots and 321 bus stations to mark this occasion.
Progress in Indiramma Housesā construction
State Revenue, Housing, and Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy directed district collectors to take steps to sanction Indiramma houses to every eligible poor person in line with government targets for the construction of Indiramma houses.
He instructed officials to complete the construction of these houses quickly.
Sand transportation should be free of cost
The minister also told collectors to ensure there is no sand shortage for house construction and that sand transportation should be free of cost to beneficiaries, ensuring they do not bear any burden for it.
He stated that he would review the progress through weekly video conferences. Furthermore, he directed the collectors to immediately resolve applications registered under Bhoobharathi and take appropriate action following regulations.
Vanamahotsavam
State Minister for Forests, Environment and Endowments, Konda Surekha, directed officials to extensively plant saplings at the ground level as part of the Vanamahotsavam program.
