Telangana Congress leaders protest, demand probe against Adani Group

Congress leaders called for 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' in Telangana on Wednesday

Telangana: Holding placards 'save LIC' and' Expose Adani' scam, the Congress leaders in Telangana called for 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' and raised slogans against the BJP-led government at the Centre on Wednesday. The leaders went on a rally from Gandhi Bhavan, the headquarters of the Telangana Congress, to Raj Bhavan. However, the opposition leaders were stopped at Khairatabad junction. The rally was stopped and prevented the Congress leaders from reaching their destination.

Through the placards written 'When will Modi break the silence on his best friend Adani's scam?', the Congress leaders demanded to expose the relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Industrialist Gautam Adani.

The Congress leaders went on a heated argument with the police. Some of them even tried to push through the barricades and jump over them. Senior leaders Ponnala Lakshmayya, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Seethakka, Nadeem Javed, Rohit Choudhary, Mallu Ravi, Rohin Reddy, and few more were arrested.

"East India Company, before Independence, looted India's wealth and shared it with the PM of England. A similar situation is there in India today where Adani company is looting India's wealth and sharing it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee to be appointed immediately to bring out the facts before our nation," said Congress leader Mallu Ravi.

Letter to the ED

Leaders and MP's of 16-like minded opposition parties went on a walk to the ED's office to submit a letter of complaint to the Director of Enforcement Directorate, New Delhi, S K Mishra, asking for an investigation into the Adani scam. However, after they were prevented from walking, the letter was emailed to S K Mishra.

Revanth Reddy demands JPC on Adani's scam

TPCC president, A Revanth Reddy, condemned the arrest of Congress leaders. Revanth Reddy, who is on 'Yatra for Change' in Nizamabad district, questioned why the BJP Government is ignoring the JPC demand.

"The value of Adani's assets increased by 819 per cent while the world was in turmoil due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. After 2014, the country's wealth was looted by Adani Ambani," said Revanth Reddy. He said that the Congress fought against the farmers' laws saying that Modi is enslaving the country in the form of the British model Adani.

"They tried to silence the opposition by preventing a debate on the Adani scam in Parliament. If a private company loots lakhs of crores of public money. If Congress leaders went to complain to the ED, why did they stop it?' questioned Revanth Reddy. He highlighted how JPC was constituted of Coal Scam, 2G, and CommonWealth Games during the Congress regime.

The TPCC president demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi break the silence on the expose of financial irregularities in Adani group companies. He questioned why the Centre was trying to save the person.

"With the arrest of Congress leaders in Telangana state and New Delhi, the dark deal between Adani and the Prime Minister came to light. Adani and the Prime Minister are not different. Both are the same", Revanth Reddy said.

He demanded to constitute a Joint Parliamentary Committee to have a transparent investigation of Adani's alleged scam.
