Telangana: EC holds special revision for corrections in voter ID

Hyderabad: As part of Special Summary Revision (SSR), 2024, a special campaign was conducted on Saturday at all designated places in 119 Assembly Constituencies of Telangana State. The campaign will also be continued on Sunday.
At all Polling Stations, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), equipped with a copy of the latest electoral rolls and all relevant forms of claims and objections, guided the citizens in the matter.
During the Special Campaign day, a total of 43,176 forms were received. Out of which, Form-6 were 25,347, Form-7 were 7,984 and Form-8 was 9,845. These forms are related to changes and corrections in the electoral rolls of voters.
During the Special Campaign day, District Election Officers (DEOs) have visited 256 Polling Stations and verified the receipt of claims & objections.
Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) have inspected 2,745 Polling Stations and AEROs visited 11,579 Polling Stations.
Out of 35,356 Polling Stations, 35,346 BLOs were present and 10 BLOs were found to be absent at the Polling Stations, for which DEOs have been asked to call for their explanation.
In the special campaign day 1,729 Booth Level Agents (BLAs), representing various political parties were also involved.
The special campaign day is also being conducted on Sunday at all designated Polling Stations and BLOs will be present at their respective Polling Stations along with electoral rolls and all relevant forms.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Telangana requested all citizens to utilize this opportunity and requested all citizens who have completed 18 years as on January 1, 2024 to submit Form-6 for inclusion of their names in the electoral roll and become eligible to cast their votes in the ensuing General Election to the Lok Sabha, 2024. Electors seeking corrections of names, address, phone number etc. should submit Form-8 and also submit Form-7 along with proof in case of any objection for the entries existing in the electoral roll.
