Telangana HC declines to stay Kamareddy master plan; asks govt to file counter affidavit

Telangana High Court has refused to stay the draft master plan for Kamareddy town.

T Srinivas Singh and 39 other farmers had filed a petition against the Kamareddy Municipal Commissioner for notifying their lands in Remeshwarpallyin the Draft General Town Planning Scheme.

Hearing the petition, Justice P. Madhavi Devi directed the state government to file a counter to the petition filed by farmers unwilling to part with their lands for the proposed industrial zone under the master plan.

Justice P. Madhavi Devi opined that nothing would change with the proposed master plan in Kamareddy town as there was a delay in the Warangal master plan for many years. She stated that if everything had happened as we intended to occur, the country would have developed earlier.

Advocate General informed the court that the state government would consider the farmers' objections while finalizing the master plan.

The matter has been adjourned to January 25.
