Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Monday dismissed the election petition, challenging the election of Kunamaneni Sambasiva Rao, Kothagudem CPI MLA, who won the election by 80,336 votes.
The petition was filed by Nandulal Agarwal, a social worker from Kothagudem Assembly Constituency.
The judge declined to accept the contention of the petitioner that advocate Mendu Rajamallu, who notarised the affidavit of Sambasiva Rao in Form 26 filed along with the nomination, is not competent to notarise the affidavit as on November 8, 2023. Mendu Rajamallu has later applied for the renewal of the licence, which was granted to him.
Further, the judge also declined to accept the contention of the petitioner that Sambasiva Rao did not mention the name of his wife in Form 26, but he gave all details pertaining to his wife by submitting her PAN card and other details.
