Hyderabad: Health and Family Welfare Minister Harish Rao on Saturday launched the pilot project of `Telangana Health Profile' in Mulugu and Sircilla districts.
A digital data bank, the profile is aimed to collect the health data of the people.
Under the program, Aadhaar numbers, addresses, blood sugar hypertension levels, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), etc will be collected and recorded digitally.
This data will be collected by a team of medical staff in each district.
Harish Rao said a special officer will be deployed in Mulugu to collect the citizen's health-related data. "Doctors can have a ready reference of patient's health history. It will help in the treatment process," he said.
He said the initiative will be a milestone in improving health conditions in the state.
He urged the officials to collect the health data within 40 days. "Additionally, ASHA workers will provide a health care kit for those with chronic diseases," he said.
Harish Rao said the initiative was to be launched earlier but was postponed due to the Covid outbreak.
After the program is completed in Mulugu and Sircilla, it will be launched in other districts. He said that the state government is working towards setting up a treatment center for Thalassemia in Mulugu.
