Yellow alert for TS; IMD predicts rainfall for next 5 days
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Telangana on Friday and predicted rainfall in the state for the next five days.

IMD said light to moderate rain or thundershowers is very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana. Also, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (with a wind speed of 30 to 40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in a few districts.
In the GHMC area, IMD has predicted rain or thundershowers in the evenings or nights for the next five days.

According to IMD, the trough and wind discontinuity from west Vidarbha to south interior Karnataka now runs from west Vidarbha to north interior Karnataka across Marathwada at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the state's highest rainfall of 24.1 mm was recorded in Wargal in the Siddipet district. The state's average cumulative rainfall from 1 June 2021 to 15 April 2022 was 1,140.2 mm against the normal 870.9 mm with a deviation of 31%. Meanwhile, the state's highest maximum temperature (42.4 Ā°C ) was recorded in Tanur, Nirmal district.
TSDPS also said that GHMC's average cumulative rainfall from 1 June 2021 to 15 April 2022 was 897.6 mm against the normal 742.8 mm with a deviation of 21%. The highest maximum temperature in the GHMC area was 40.3Ā°C in Maruthi Nagar, Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
