Telangana MLC elections 2021: All 6 TRS candidates emerge victorious

With Tuesday's victory, all 12 vacant MLC seats have gone in favour of TRS. The elections for the six remaining vacant seats were conducted on 10 December.

Telangana MLC elections 2021: All 6 TRS candidates emerge victorious

Hyderabad: The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Tuesday won all the six MLC seats in the biennial election held from the Local Authorities' Constituencies (LAC) on 10 December.

The results were announced by the state election commission after the end of the four-hour counting of votes polled in the six LAC constituencies spread across five districts.

The victorious TRS candidates are L. Ramana and T. Bhanu Prasad from Karimnagar district, Dande Vithal (Adilabad district), T. Madhusudhan (Khammam district), M.C Koti Reddy (Nalgonda district), and V. Yadava Reddy (Medak district) have won the election. Bhanu Prasad and Ramana got 584 and 479 votes, respectively, while Yadava Reddy received 762 votes, M.C Koti Reddy secured 917 votes, and Madhusudhan registered 480 votes in Khammam. In Adilabad, Dande Vittal received 740 of the total 862 votes.

With Tuesday's victory, all 12 vacant MLC seats have gone in favour of TRS. Earlier, six TRS candidates - Pochampally Srinivas Reddy (Warangal), Kalvakuntal Kavitha (Nizamabad), K. Damodar Reddy and Kasireddy Narayan Reddy (Mahabubnagar), and Patnam Mahender Reddy and Sunkari Raju (Ranga Reddy) - had won the election unopposed.

The elections for the six remaining vacant seats were conducted on 10 December. TRS was pitted against Congress on two seats and Independents on the other four.

After the results were announced on Tuesday, Kalvakuntla Kavitha tweeted, "TRS 12/12 - People's choice emerges victorious. I thank local body representatives of Telangana for believing in the vision and ability of Hon'ble CM KCR garu and @trspartyonline. The story and progress of Telangana is a testimony of what perseverance and commitment looks like."
