Telangana reports 1,673 new COVID19 cases, GHMC adds 1,165 cases
The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 13,522.

On Saturday, the state had reported only 2,606 cases. The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 13,522. One more COVID-19 death was reported in the last 24 hours in Telangana.
Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was the main contributor of the infection by registering a maximum of 1,165 new cases during the last 24 hours, followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (149), Rangareddy (123), and Sangareddy (44). The day's remaining coronavirus cases have been registered by other districts.
A total of 330 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6,76,466 constituting a recovery rate of 97.46 percent.
As many as 48,583 samples were tested in the state during the past 24 hours out of which the results of 13,162 swab samples are awaited. Cumulatively, 3,01,23,888 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
meanwhile, Visakhapatnam and Chittoor districts reported the highest COVID-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. The state saw 1,257 new cases of which the highest (254) was reported in Chittoor followed by Visakhapatnam (196).
Andhra Pradesh is seeing a rise in daily COVID-19 cases. On 8 January, a total of 839 cases were reported in the state. The majority of the cases are seen in Chittoor and Visakhapatnam districts.
The total active cases in Andhra Pradesh stands at 4,774 as of Sunday. Till now, a total of 20,78,964 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state.
