Hyderabad: As many as 4.50 lakh houses are being sanctioned across the State as part of Indiramma Housing Scheme, said revenue and housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to governor Jishnu Dev Varma. Khammam MP Ramsahayam Raghuram Reddy also participated in the meeting.
In a meeting with governor Varma, minister Srinivas said, āThere are 500 to 700 houses sanctioned in tribal constituencies. Ten thousand homes have been sanctioned for Chenchu families within the ITDA limits, and houses will be sanctioned on priority to the poor.ā
Implementation of the Bhu Bharati Act
He said that Indiramma houses have also been sanctioned in Poosukunta village in Kothagudem district, Gogulapudi in Bhadradri, Bhurki and Mangli in Adilabad district, Appapur and Baurapur villages in Nagarkurnool district, which were adopted by the governor. These villages are being monitored by officials from time to time, and the governor will be apprised of the developments.
He explained that the Bhu Bharati Act, which was brought with the aim of providing a permanent solution to the land problems that have been prevailing in the State for the last 10 years, was implemented on a pilot basis in four mandals of the State from the April 17 and is being implemented in 28 mandals from the May 5.
The applications from the poor are accepted without any fee, said the minister.
Data on the sanction of houses
- A total of 20 lakh houses will be constructed across the State.
- 3,500 houses for each constituency.
- The Bhu Bharati Act will resolve all land-related problems in the State.
- For Indiramma houses in each constituency, the budget of Rs 22,500 crore has been allotted.
- Homes built are going to be monitored through e-governance, and accordingly, payments will be carried out.
- No middleman will be used to disburse money to the beneficiaries, said the officials of the housing department.
