Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced the construction of nine integrated Sub-Registrar Office (SRO) complexes across four districts.

These upcoming offices, designed on par with corporate standards, aim to consolidate registration services under one roof while improving infrastructure, efficiency and public convenience.

Phase-wise modernisation with corporate-grade infrastructure

The Department of Stamps and Registration, which had already adopted the slot-booking system to streamline public services, is now moving ahead with infrastructure upgradation.

As part of this modernisation initiative, standalone and rented sub-registrar offices will be reorganised and integrated into spacious, well-equipped permanent buildings.

Only 37 of the existing 144 sub-registrar offices in the State currently operate from government-owned premises. The rest are housed in rented facilities, often lacking adequate space and public amenities.

To address this, the government plans to construct integrated complexes in a phased manner, starting with nine in the first phase.

Locations finalised in four districts

The first phase of integrated sub-registrar complexes will cover the following districts:

Hyderabad District: 2 integrated facilities covering 11 SROs

Ranga Reddy District: 3 integrated facilities for 14 SROs

Medchal-Malkajgiri District: 3 integrated facilities for 12 SROs

Sangareddy District (including Patancheru): 1 integrated facility

Revenue, Housing, Information, and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, after a review meeting at the Dr BR Ambedkar State Secretariat, announced that the selection of locations was done keeping future needs in mind.

He directed officials to coordinate with respective District Collectors to identify and allocate the required land for these projects.

Gachibowli to host model integrated SRO facility

As a flagship initiative, an integrated registration office is being developed at Gachibowli, on the campus of the Telangana Academy of Land Information and Management (TALIM). This facility will bring together the sub-registrar offices of Gandipet, Serilingampally, Rajendranagar and Balanagar into a single complex.

ā€œThis Gachibowli project will serve as a role model for other integrated offices across the State,ā€ said Minister Srinivasa Reddy, adding that the architectural design will be finalised in consultation with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The government is taking steps to lay the foundation stone at the earliest.

Better services, faster processing and reduced corruption

The integrated complexes will not only enhance the quality of services but also ease administrative operations. According to officials, consolidated facilities will enable faster file processing, improve monitoring and accountability, reduce corruption, allow equitable distribution of workload among offices and provide better infrastructure for both staff and the public.

ā€œThe ultimate goal is citizen satisfaction. By ensuring transparency and efficiency in registrations, we are moving towards a people-friendly governance model,ā€ the minister said.

This initiative marks a significant step in Telangana’s ongoing efforts to upgrade public service infrastructure and aligns with the broader administrative reforms being championed by the Revanth Reddy-led government, Srinivasa Reddy added.
