Telangana: Solar power units for farmers who were given Pattas under the Forest Rights Act to cultivate their lands

HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has said that steps will be taken to set up solar power units to help Podu farmers run agriculture pump sets. The facility will be provided to the farmers who were given Pattas under the Forest Rights Act to cultivate their lands.

Instructions will be given to the Tribal department to make necessary arrangements for Podu farmers to set up solar power units, Bhatti said. He said that the Praja Vani program was introduced to allow people to voice problems directly to the government.

He asserted that the Praja Vani program will be continued despite challenges. Bhatti said that he was happy that beneficiaries who submitted applications to the Praja Vani program were satisfied with the governmentā€™s actions.

The applicants expressed their satisfaction with the computerization of applications and the process of forwarding them to officers for action. All the systems in the government were only working for the peopleā€™s welfare and laying a strong foundation for democratic rule, he said.

The government under Indiramma Rajyam is working in tune with Congress leader Rahul Gandhiā€™s vision of real democracy. He said the state government is consciously working to stick to the Constitution.

Criticizing the previous BRS government for failing to live up to the aspirations of the Telangana people, he said they took the state 70 years backward in their 10-year rule. The previous government oppressed the people and curtailed their freedom of expression without giving any scope for progressive ideas, he said.

The BRS government trampled on the Forest Rights Act and remained indifferent to the problems of Podu farmers. ā€œThat was why the then PCC President Revanth Reddy organized large public meetings in the state. He as CLP leader undertook Padayatra from Adilabad to Khammam for people,ā€ he said.

Congress leaders convinced people that their problems would be resolved only with the restoration of Indiramma Rajyam. People blessed the Congress Party and brought it into power, he said.
