BJP state general secretary Gujjula Premender Reddy filed the writ petition in the Telangana High Court alleging that the investigation was biased and unfair.
"The above writ petition is filed complaining of bias and unfair investigation being carried upon with a sole intention to frame the leaders of the Petitioner Political Party and damage its reputation at the instance of the ruling party dispensation. This is illegal, arbitrary and in gross violation of Article 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India and also contrary to settled principles of free and fair investigation," read the petition signed by Gujjula Reddy.
They requested the court to pass orders to constitute a special team to investigate the case and transfer the case to them.
What is the case?
The BJP's move comes a day after the TRS alleged that the BJP was trying to bribe and lure some of its MLAs. Cyberabad police busted an alleged 'defection' attempt in which three persons, including a religious man, tried to 'lure' four Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs to leave the party.
Stephen Raveendra, commissioner of police, Cyberabad, and his team, on Thursday night, carried out a surprise 'search' at a farmhouse located in Aziz Nagar, Moinabad. The search was based on a tip-off received from TRS MLAs that some persons have been luring four MLAs to leave the TRS party.
"The MLAs were offered cash, contracts, and posts in return. The searches were carried out based on the information given by the TRS MLAs," the commissioner confirmed.
