TS Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma transferred to Delhi HC; Justice Ujjal Bhuyan to be new TS CJ

Justice Dhirubhai Naranbhai Patel, the former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, retired recently, following which the post fell vacant. Justin Vipin Singh was appointed the acting Chief Justice till March 2022. Now, he has been transferred to the Uttarakhand High Court. Justice Sharma took the oath as the Chief Justice of Telangana HC on 11 October 2021.

TS Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma transferred to Delhi HC; Justice Ujjal Bhuyan to be new TS CJ

Hyderabad: The Chief Justice of Telangana High Court, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, was transferred to the Delhi High Court in a decision taken by a Supreme Court collegium.

Justice Dhirubhai Naranbhai Patel, the former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, retired recently, following which the post fell vacant. Justin Vipin Singh was appointed the acting Chief Justice till March 2022. Now, he has been transferred to the Uttarakhand High Court.

Justice Satish Chandra Sharma took the oath as the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court on 11 October 2021.

The Supreme Court collegium also recommended the elevation of five judges as Chief Justices of High Courts. Among the five judges, Justice Ujjal Bhuyan from Telangana has been elevated as the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court and Justice Vipin Sanghi of Delhi High Court has been elevated as the Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court.

Justice Amjad A. Sayed of Bombay High Court was appointed the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh, Justice S.S Shinde of Bombay High Court the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, and Justice Rashmin M. Chhaya of Gujarat High Court as the Chief Justice of Guwahati.
