Hyderabad: Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of Telangana High Court on Tuesday disposed of a writ petition filed by BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind seeking registration of FIR against TRS MLC K. Kavitha.
Dharmapuri Arvind had filed a petition for action under the Official Respondents Home Department and the Hyderabad Police for not considering the representation made by him to provide aid to him on 18 November. The MP had also sought action against Kavitha for threatening him with dire consequences.
After hearing the contentions of the petitioner's counsel B. Rachna, the court has given liberty to the petitioner to avail appropriate legal remedy.
Advocate general B.S Prasad informed the court that an FIR was registered on the complaint of the petitioner's mother and nine other accused have already been arrested in the case.
Though the MP's counsel Rachna Reddy insisted the court direct the police authorities to conduct a preliminary investigation on the series of complaints lodged by the petitioner on the attacks made against him since 2020, the court was not inclined to pass any directions.
