Hyderabad: A Telangana High Court Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N. Tukaramji heard the suo motu writ petition filed by Yerram Ganapathi, president of the Nizamabad Bar Association, on Thursday.
In the representation to the High Court, Mr. Ganapathi submitted that in an incident that happened in Nizamabad, the additional collector of Nizamabad district abused and assaulted him while he was executing a court warrant in the attachment of property.
Further, he said a false complaint was filed by Prashanth Kumar, the administrative officer of Nizamabad Collectorate, at the instance of the additional collector against Mr. Ganapathi, the bailiff, the assistant bailiff, and others before the station house officer, Nizamabad rural.
The Chief Justice Bench, after perusal of the report submitted by the Registry, issued notices and directed the Nizamabad police that further proceedings in the case should be kept in abeyance until further orders.
The matter was adjourned to 23 February.
