TS High Court permits TWJF padayatra to Pragati Bhavan

The TWJF intends to take out a Pada Yatra from Mahabub Nagar to Pragathi Bhavan, Hyderabad to submit a representation to the Chief Minister of Telangana with a request to allot open plots to them as per the GO 424 of 2008 issued by the erstwhile AP Government.

TS High Court permits TWJF padayatra to Pragati Bhavan

Hyderabad: On Wednesday, the High Court Single Bench headed by Justice Kanneganti Lalitha accorded permission to Telangana Working Journalists Federation (TWJF) to go ahead with the PADAYATRA from Mahabubnagar District to Pragati Bhavan, Hyderabad from 25 to 30 September, 2022.

Justice Kanneganti Lalitha hearing on the writ petition filed by TWJF represented by its Mahabubnagar District President V. Ashok Kumar seeking to direct the State Government to consider and pass appropriate orders for granting permission to conduct padayatra by the members of TWJF from Mahabubnagar District to Pragathi Bhavan, Hyderabad.

Counsel for the petitioner Poojari Srilekha informed the court that a representation has been given to the police Commissionerates of Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad Districts to accord permission to the peaceful padayatra. Further Counsel Poojari Srilekha informed the Court that the permission to the padayatra has been denied by the police authorities in spite of giving assurance of peaceful padayatra by the concerned TWJF representatives.

The TWJF intends to take out a Pada Yatra from Mahabub Nagar to Pragathi Bhavan, Hyderabad to submit a representation to the Chief Minister of Telangana with a request to allot open plots to them as per the GO 424 of 2008 issued by the erstwhile AP Government. Assistant Government Pleader Manoj informed the Court that due to Law and Order problems,the authorities have not permitted the said padayatra. Moreover, the petitioners did not give any representation to the Cyberabad Police seeking to permit the padayatra, Asst. GP asserted.

Hearing upon the contentions of the Petitioner Counsel and Asst. GP, Justice Kanneganti Lalitha directed the Police authorities and Cyberabad Police to consider the said padayatra of TWJF.
