TS readies for Prez Droupadi Murmus five-day visit to state from 26 Dec

Hyderabad: As part of her southern sojourn, President Droupadi Murmu will visit Telangana for five days from 26 December, informed state chief secretary Somesh Kumar on Friday.

During her five-day stay in the state, the President is expected to visit temples Ramappa and Bhadrachalam as well as participate in local programmes in the city. She will also participate in the unveiling of the plaque of Har Dil Dhyan, a campaign to mark the sesquicentennial (150th anniversary) celebrations of Sri Ramachandraji Maharaj of Fatehpur by Sri Ramchandra Mission at Kanha Shanti Vanam in Ranga Reddy district.

On Friday, the chief secretary held a meeting with the heads of various departments at Rashtrapati Nilayam at BRKR Bhavan to discuss the arrangements to be made for the President's visit.

The chief secretary directed the officials to coordinate and make elaborate arrangements for the President's visit. He directed the GHMC commissioner and Cantonment board CEO to take up road repair works and barricading so that traffic to the Rastrapathi Nilayam flows smoothly. The police department has been asked to make bandobast arrangements.

Mr. Kumar directed the electricity department to ensure 24 hours power supply, and asked the medical department to deploy medical teams and other departments to make arrangements at Rashtrapati Nilayam as per protocol.

The chief secretary also asked the officials to also make proper arrangements for the smooth conduct of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramchandraji Maharaj scheduled to be held from 25 January to 3 February 2023 at Kanha Shanti Vanam, Ranga Reddy district. More than one lakh pilgrims from all over the country are expected to attend the event.
