TS registers record high liquor sales worth Rs. 30,222 crore in 2021

Hyderabad: Liquor sales hit a record high in Telangana in 2021 as 3.69 crore liquor cases and 3.26 crore cases of beer worth Rs. 30,222 crore were sold, over Rs. 4,621 crore more than last year, according to the Excise department.

In 2016, 2.72 crore cases of liquor worth Rs. 14,075 crore and 3.42 crore cases of beer were sold in the state. In 2020, 3.18 crore cases of liquor and 2.93 crore cases of beer worth Rs. 25,601.39 crore were sold.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh registered profits worth Rs. 124.10 as of 31 December 2021. On 30 and 31 December, liquor worth Rs. 215 crore was sold in the state. The general sales in the state were Rs. 70-75 crore per day, while on the new year day, sales increased by Rs. 50 crores.
