DIG Sumathi said 18 women police stations are working exclusively to address various issues related to women in the state. "We are working in coordination with the National Women's Commission, the National Commission for Women, the ministry of external affairs, and the Home ministry to resolve complaints against these expatriate Indians," she said.

Meanwhile, NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma expressed concern over the high number of NRI marriage-related cases in the southern states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. She said 5,858 cases were registered in connection with NRI marriages in India.
She added that many agencies from different countries are facing a lot of difficulties when they are coordinating with agencies in our country to resolve these cases. She added that to curb such domestic crimes, there is a need to motivate women, especially young women who are ready for marriage.
