Hyderabad: The Telangana health department will organise a state-wide polio drive on 27 February, announced state finance minister Harish Rao on Friday. He said the government has made all necessary arrangements to vaccinate all children between the ages of 0-5 years.
The drive will be conducted in health centres, Anganwadis, government schools, libraries, bus stands, and other centres across the state. It will start from 8 a.m to 5 p.m.
A total of 38 lakh children are expected to be vaccinated against polio during the drive, the minister said. He said the programme was being organised in collaboration with the department of health, ICDS, and education, municipality, and panchayati raj departments. Mr. Rao appealed to all the people to cooperate and ensure that all children under the age of five are vaccinated.
