TSPSC leak: Bandi Sanjay writes to SIT, says won’t appear for questioning

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay has written to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) stating that he will not be able to appear for questioning due to the ongoing Parliament session. On Sunday, BJP legal cell convenor Rama Rao submitted the letter to SIT at their office in Himayatnagar.

The SIT team has reportedly responded in a positive way and told the legal team that they will issue another notice later, depending on the investigation.

On Saturday, Bandi Sanjay was issued a second notice by the SIT regarding the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam paper leak case and was asked to appear on Sunday.

In his letter written to SIT, Bandi Sanjay said, “Despite the categorical assertion that I made in my earlier communication to you—that I have no trust in the SIT, which the state government has constituted—and that I have been busy with the ongoing Parliament session, you preferred to repeat the notice.” He told the SIT that he has no qualms “with your refusal to understand the valid reasons for my inability to appear before you on a date decided by you, as I can surmise your compulsions.”

Mr. Sanjay further wrote, “When I came to know through a few independent sources that a large number of people were unduly qualified in a certain village, I put it in the public domain so that, as an SIT, you would investigate the matter to find out the veracity of the information. Since I am a public representative and the president of TS BJP, I get information from many sources and in the situations such as these, it becomes incumbent on my part to put it in the public domain. Instead of pursuing the matter, you chose to serve notice on me and expect me to appear before you.”
