Hyderabad: The BJP staged a ‘Nirudyoga maha dharna’ at Indira Park on Saturday to protest against the recent TSPSC paper leak scandal. The protest saw a large number of BJP leaders, workers, and unemployed individuals in attendance.
The BJP leaders expressed their anguish over the cancellation of all the exams due to paper leaks, which they claim have affected the future of 30 lakh job aspirants.
Addressing the crowd, state BJP president Bandi Sanjay said, “The TSPSC paper leakage is being discussed all over the country, and the lives of Telangana youth have been ruined by the failure of the government.”
He demanded an inquiry into the issue by a sitting judge and said, “Those behind the leakage should be brought out and a compensation of Rs. 1 lakh be given to the losing candidates.”
Bandi Sanjay accused the Telangana government of practising nepotism and promoting family rule and demanded the resignation or dismissal of IT minister K.T. Rama Rao who he said is responsible for the TSPSC exam paper leak. He said, “KCR will give jobs only when elections are near,” and called for the 30 lakh unemployed youth to unite and drive KCR’s family out of Telangana. He promised that if they come to power in the state, the BJP will fill two lakh jobs and set up a job calendar.
The BJP chief also expressed his support for anyone agitating against the government on the TSPSC issue and promised to organise an unemployment march in 10 districts.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson N.V. Subhash said the Telangana government deliberately delayed job notifications and that the BJP has been raising its voice for the people for the past eight years, highlighting the shortfalls and gaps in the job notifications. He further said, “We would continue to protest until KTR resigns and justice is served.”
‘People don’t have faith in your SIT investigations’
BJP MLA Etala Rajender issued a strong statement regarding the Telangana government’s failure to provide jobs to the people of the state. Highlighting the sacrifices made by the people during the Telangana movement, Mr. Rajender said, “Three generations have made a movement for Telangana. From 2001, the movement continued for 14 years beyond flags and politics.”
He added, “369 people sacrificed their lives in the movement that lasted from 1956 to 1969. JAC was formed at Osmania University and the movement continued vigorously.”
Regarding the recent TSPSC paper leak case, he criticised the government’s handling of the situation and said, “People don’t have faith in your SIT investigations.”
He also accused the government of discrimination against the unemployed. “Only brokers and labourers are getting jobs,” he said and criticised Chief Minister KCR for not fulfilling his promise to fill 1.91 lakh job vacancies in the state. Mr. Rajender alleged that only 11,000 jobs were filled after KCR came to power for the second time.
The BJP MLA also accused KCR of trying to protect his daughter in the liquor scam and said the time for the collapse of the KCR government is near. He urged the government to take immediate action to address the issues facing the state’s unemployed youth.
Raghunandan Rao unhappy with SIT probe
BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao raised concerns regarding the handling of the TSPSC paper leak case by the SIT officials. He said, “We are suspicious that the SIT officials did not question how the TSPSC key went to Rajasekhar and Praveen.” He also questioned why no notices were issued to a single officer working in TSPSC under the (91) code of criminal procedure.
Mr. Rao also criticised KTR and said, “KTR is issuing SIT notices only to those mentioned. How did you tell the two convicts before giving the SIT report? Why SIT officials did not seize the CCTV footage?”
He expressed dissatisfaction with the SIT’s investigation and said, “So far, the SIT has investigated only Class IV employees. Why weren’t the officials investigated?”
Mr. Rao demanded that the government provide unemployment benefits to the unemployed from January 2019 till now. He made a reference to former railway minister Shastri’s resignation in response to a train accident.
Ministers, MLAs acting loyal to KCR: DK Aruna
D.K. Aruna, the BJP national vice-president, demanded that notices be given to KCR, KTR, Harish Rao, and Kavitha for their “cross” comments about the Prime Minister. She said the people of Telangana are looking towards BJP. “Ministers and MLAs are acting as if they are loyal to KCR,” she added.
She also questioned why Kavitha, a BRS leader, was allowed to protest in Delhi while BJP was not given permission to protest. She further criticised the handling of the TSPSC paper leak case and said, “TSPSC should conduct an inquiry with the sitting judge.” She further called for KTR to take responsibility and resign.
