Udaipur tailor beheading: Owaisi, KTR condemn murder; demand stringent action

Hyderabad: All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen(AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi has condemned the gruesome murder of a tailor in Udaipur.

The tailer was beheaded for supporting suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma

AIMIM president has also demanded the state government take stringent action against the accused.

"I condemn the gruesome murder in Udaipur Rajasthan. There can be no justification for it. Our party's consistent stand is to oppose such violence. No one can take the law into their own hands. We demand that the state govt take the strictest possible action. Rule of law must be upheld," tweeted Owaisi.

Two men slit the throat of the tailor, Kanhaiya Lal, and posted a video on social media where they claimed that they are avenging an insult to Islam. Later, both the accused have been arrested by the police. The incident has triggered communal tension in the Rajasthan city with authorities imposing a curfew to avoid any flare-up.

In a video clip, one of the purported assailants declared that they "beheaded" the man. Later they threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Meanwhile, Telangana Rashtra Samithi Working President KT Rama Rao has also termed the incident as horrific and barbaric violence. "Horrified & shocked beyond belief at the ghastly murder in Udaipur.

This barbaric violence has no place in civil society & and the most stringent punishment should be given to the perpetrators through fast track court," tweeted KTR.
