Khammam: The Vandhe Bharat Express was once again pelted with stones in the Khammam district. Unknown miscreants threw stones at C12 coach emergency glass near Khammam station, while the train was coming from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam on February 3, Friday evening. The culprits were identified through CCTV footage.
As a result of the incident, the Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express on February 4, was late by about three hours as the emergency window glass had to be replaced.
The train departs from Vizag at 5.45 a.m. and reaches Secunderabad at 2.25 p.m. It stops at Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Khammam, and Warrangal. The train departs from Secunderabad at 2.45 p.m. and reaches Vizag at 11.25 p.m.
A similar incident was reported on 11 January when unknown miscreants pelted stones at the Vande Bharat Express when the train arrived at the Visakhapatnam railway station for maintenance and a trial run. The coach glass was broken and the loss was expected to be Rs. 1 lakh. Divisional railway manager Anup Satpathy launched a probe and arrested the culprits.
