By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 Nov 2022 9:05 AM GMTHyderabad: Kalvakuntla Kavitha, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter and state Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), on Friday claimed that she has been approached by BJP's friends and other related organisations to join the party. She said they had proposed a "Shinde Model."
"I responded to these people by stating that Telangana people do not cheat each other. We do not betray our own parties and our leaders," she said adding that she rejected the offers as she will always support KCR. "I have rejected these proposals politely. Now, what they (opposition parties) will do is a different story," she said.
"I am not intrested in joining any party, our party is TRS, now BRS we will make devolopment in national level also," she said.
Kavitha stated that she received multiple proposals at various points regarding shifting political parties. She further stated that there is a trend being observed where opposition leaders are being harrassed by the Enforcement Directorate.
She referred to how the ED refused to defer Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren's request to shift his questioning. "Hemant Soren said that as a Chief Minister where will I run away. It is sad that our country's politics have come to this," she said.
Meanwhile, Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri alleged that his residence was attacked and vandalised by "TRS goons."
He tweeted, "They terrorized my mother & created ruckus.
Earlier, Mr. Arvind had claimed that Kavitha wanted to join the Congress party because she was dissatisfied with her father. He claimed that Kavitha had called party president Malikarjun Kharge about it.
In response to this, Kavita said, "I usually refrain from making personal comments and hence I am warning you that if you continue to speak rubbish about my family or me, I will hit you with chappals at Nizamabad's Chowrasta."
She said that she will hunt him down by contesting against him wherever he contests from and ensure his defeat.
