Will expose Modi-KCR nexus at farmers rally in Erravalli: Revanth

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MP A. Revanth Reddy on Friday announced that the Congress would organize a massive farmers' rally at Erravalli in Gajwel constituency on 27 December to highlight the crisis being faced by farmers.

Addressing a press conference at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Revanth said Erravalli has been selected as the venue for the farmers' rally because it falls in the Gajwel constituency represented by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao. "The Congress will expose the nexus between KCR and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in CM's own constituency. We will explain how the KCR-Modi combine have been cheating the farmers since the beginning," he said.

Reiterating the allegations that the TRS and BJP governments were enacting dramas of fake rivalry for political gains, Revanth asked KCR to explain why K.T Rama Rao, Kavitha, and Santosh Rao did not join the so-called fight against the BJP government. Why was KTR not part of the ministers' delegation and why was Santosh Rao not part of the MPs' delegation which visited Delhi on paddy farmers' issue, the Congress MP asked. He said that the absence of KTR and Santosh Rao in TRS activities in Delhi clearly shows that KCR was enacting the drama of a fight with the BJP government while in reality TRS and BJP are silent allies.

The TPCC chief alleged that when farmers are dying due to non-procurement of their produce, KTR and Santosh Rao were on a holiday. "Where were KTR and Santosh Rao for the last six days? Are they in Goa or Dubai?" he asked.

Revanth said that huge piles of paddy lying at farmyards and markets resembled corpses in front of the farmers' houses. Neither KCR nor the Modi government is showing any interest in procuring the paddy. KCR went to Delhi but did not meet PM Modi to explain the farmers' problems and seek a resolution, Revanth said and added that the TRS MPs first enacted the drama of stalling the Parliament over paddy farmers' issues. On PM Modi's direction, KCR directed the TRS MPs to return home and then they enacted the drama of 'boycott'. A few photographs were taken in the Parliament's Central Hall to mislead the farmers, he said and asked the KCR government to explain why the targets of paddy procurement were not reached during the Kharif season and why it failed to get assurance from the Centre on the Yasangi crop.

The TPCC chief said the Congress party, in its proposed farmers' rally at Erravalli, will expose the entire nexus between KCR and Modi and how TRS and BJP have hatched a joint conspiracy to cheat the farmers and other sections in Telangana. He appealed to the farmers to participate in the Congress rally which would be addressed by all prominent leaders.
