Visakhapatnam: Four youngsters drowned in the sea near RK Beach in Visakhapatnam on Sunday afternoon. Bodies of two washed ashore while the police are searching for another two persons.
The Three Town circle inspector K Rama Rao who is supervising search operations at the site said that "Two bodies washed ashore and the search was on for the remaining two persons. The bodies were identified as N Shiva Kumar of Hyderabad and Sumitra Tripathy of Odisha."
The search is on for Harish and M Shiva Kumar of Hyderabad.
The inspector said an eight-member group came from Hyderabad and went to RK Beach for a picnic. "Another group from Odisha was also mingled along with them. The Sunday crowd was huge at the beach and most of them ventured into the sea for swimming. A strong current dragged many of them who went deeper into the water. Few could swim ashore while these four persons were drawn into deep waters," said the police.
