Visakhapatnam: YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabha member V Vijaysai Reddy said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is against the disinvestment of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

Addressing a meeting organized by the national general secretary of INTUC Mantri Rajasekhar, Vijaysai Reddy said people rising above their political affiliations should unitedly agitate against the Central government.

He said YSRCP will fight along with the trade unions till the government changed its stance.

"If necessary I will take the trade union leaders to New Delhi and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ask him to drop the decision," Vijaysai Reddy said.

INTUC general secretary said his union would organize a dharna along with the employees on February 12. In the second phase, employees along with their families will stage dharna on February 18.

State president of CITU Ch Narsinga Rao said the response to the agitation from all corners of the state was overwhelming.

He said Visakha Ukku Parirakshana Samithi would be announced along with the office bearers on Thursday and discuss the future course of action.
