Plum cakes, chilly morning, & warm fires: Vizag celebrates Christmas

Visakhapatnam: From offering prayers at churches to having a feast at home, Christmas in the city was a colorful and fun-filled day. However, it was a tough day for the city traffic police.

There were crowds of people at the Beach Road, Siripuram, Rushikonda, Tenneti Park, MVP colony, Gajuwaka, and NAD junction. Due to the chilly weather, all roads led to Vizag Agency especially to Lambasingi, Vanjagi, and Araku where people flocked to enjoy the foggy mornings.

This week was good for resorts and cottage owners as business was good and no rooms were vacant till Monday. Many young people ventured on a road trip and brought their own tents and lit fire camps at the hilltop.

City bakers had a busy day. They have been getting orders for the last two days. Plum cakes and cookies were the best-selling products on Christmas.

Meanwhile, NGOs, children's homes, and old-age homes celebrated Christmas within their communities. NGO Prajwala Vani Society that helps specially-abled children had a surprise for the kids when Santa Claus visited them and distributed gifts.
