Visakhapatnam, AP: Want to visit 'Burj Khalifa' or 'Twin Towers'? No need to travel to Dubai or Malaysia.

Well, don't be surprised! Replicas of Burj Khalifa' and Twin Towers' have been created at the Andhra University Engineering Grounds, the venue for the first-of-its-kind 'Handloom Handicraft Fun Fair Exhibition'. The exhibition will be open to the public from December 16.


The 65-day fun fair exhibition will be a visual delight for the people who always wanted to visit the iconic structures in the world. The main entrance with a 200-foot entry gate has been designed to reflect the Smart City. It will be one of the main attractions of the exhibition.

Raja Reddy, the exhibition organizer, said besides `Burj Khalifa' and Twin Towers' they have created replicas of London Bridge and Disney World, the globe of 'Universal Studios, and Boat House.


Art director Shekar from Tamil Nadu, who is best known for designing sets for many films, was the man behind creating replicas of these iconic structures. With about 70 people working on it, it took 45 days to complete the iconic structures".

The exhibition will also house a Zoo with robotic birds and animals and huge chimpanzees beating the drum.


Apart from the iconic structures, the exhibition will have 200 stalls with artisans coming from 23 states showcasing the handlooms and handicrafts.

"We utilized trees and bushes to create the natural ambiance for our 'birds and animals' and to depict a primitive tribal family living in the woods. It will take at least three hours for a visitor to leisurely go through the exhibits on display," he said.


The entry fee for the exhibition is Rs 60. Visitors have been asked to wear masks, use sanitizers and maintain social distancing.
