Visakhapatnam: A13-year-old missing girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Sanivada in Vizag city on Wednesday.
The girl's father is working as a watchman at an apartment in Aganampudi. Hailing from Byreddipeta under Cheepurupalle Mandal in Vizianagaram district, the family had come to Aganampudi in search of livelihood.
She was last seen playing near the apartment on Tuesday evening. However, she didn't return to her residence.
Though her parents searched for her, she could not be traced. Later, they found her body near the apartment in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Suspecting that their girl was murdered, her parents staged a protest demanding action against those responsible for her death. Police reached the spot and pacified the agitators.
Kurmanapalem police have registered a case and formed a special team to ascertain the reasons behind the mysterious death. Her body was shifted to KG Hospital in Vizag city for an autopsy.
Police said that they are investigating the case from all angles.
