Vizag lad Prashant selected for Prime Volleyball League

Vizag volleyball player P. Prashant has been selected for the Prime Volleyball League to be held early next year. Prashant was bought by Chennai Blitz and is the only player from the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Visakhapatnam: Vizag volleyball player P. Prashant has been selected for the Prime Volleyball League to be held early next year. Prashant was bought by Chennai Blitz and is the only player from the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Earlier, he had played for Hyderabad Hawks in the Pro Volleyball league in 2019 and also participated in the Senior India Camp during the Jakarta Asian Championship 2018.

He played for the Maldives club in the Rupavahani international tournament in Colombo, for Mangalore Spikers in Oman National Day Cup, and for Alreef Panasia in the Al Zayani International tournament, Bahrain.

He has been playing volleyball since his school days when he represented Andhra Pradesh at various levels. From 2011 to 2014 he played for Tamil Nadu when he pursued higher education in the state and participated in several national-level events.

After joining the Customs and indirect tax department in 2015 through the sports quota, he played seven senior nationals for the department and three federation cups for Andhra. He captained the department team in 2018 and 2019.
