Hyderabad : Tightening noose around lockdown violators, Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahender Reddy said anyone stepping out of their homes to purchase essentials should carry their proof of residence.

“Many people are misusing the emergency passes. Common people are also moving freely on the roads. So far more than 1.20 lakh vehicles have been seized in the state, but still, people are seen violating the orders,” the DGP said.

Further, any person with a medical emergency should carry a prescription from the doctor even while going to purchase medicines. People visiting any super or multi-specialty hospitals also need to carry their residence proof along with the documents, police said.

The COVID death toll in the state increased to 23, while the total number of active cases stands at 663. Out of the 872 cases reported, 186 have been discharged/cured, said the health officials.
